''Weekends and summers in our family pizza shop in the Bronx were the most influential times of our lives.'' - The Rocco Brothers

''It was a family affair,'' recall the brothers, when reminiscing about their early years behind the counter at their father's pizza shop in the Bronx. ''Our Dad was there days, nights and weekends. Our mom would go help him after she got us off to school. At three o'clock, when she picked us up, there would be pizza, calzones and a meatball parm sub for after-school snacks. When weekends and summers came there was no point in arguing. We were going to help because it was expected of us. We didn't realize it at the time but all those weekends and summers taught us life lessons that became more and more important as we got older. After college, it was a natural choice for us to go back to what we knew best, and that was pizza.''

In 1991 Joe, Mike and Frank Rocco opened the first Planet Pizza on Tarrytown Road in Greenburgh, NY. Three years later our first Fairfield County store opened in Greenwich. By expanding slowly and methodically, we have grown to eight locations over the past nineteen years without ever sacrificing the quality or integrity of our products. We have implemented plenty of changes over the years as well; we are among the first independent pizza stores nationwide to implement computerized order taking, GPS driver tracking, a website and online ordering. We have resisted the changes that we thought would weaken our products. We have no central commissary supplying our stores (like Domino's and Papa John's). Our pizza sauce and dough is still made in each individual store from recipes we were taught years ago. In addition to our delicious traditional crust we are the only pizzeria to offer whole wheat and gluten-free pizza crust to help our customers meet their dietary needs.

Over the past 19 years our families have grown as well. We have four children each and there are no better times than when the twelve cousins are all together. We have made thousands of friends and loyal customers over the years and we are often asked why we are so successful. Our recipe for success was one that we learned years ago: Give your customers the highest quality ingredients, friendly service and a clean restaurant and keep your prices fair.

Much work, thought and pride go into all of our products. We thank you for your patronage and look forward to serving you.
